The Construction Delivery Manager (CDM) will support the delivery of an area within a specific section of the Civils Works. Responsibilities include all construction and related activities, reporting to the Senior Construction Delivery Manager, and coordinating with the site-wide logistics team, programming and planning, monitoring and close out of authorities\’ obligations and client liaison.
Principal Accountabilities
* Recommend temporary measures to mitigate safety and/or quality concerns. Follow up by taking appropriate and proportionate action to avoid cessation of work. This includes but is not limited to the review of documents, assurance audits, etc.
* Monitor works on-site and record findings in a construction daily site log, ensuring information is reported up to the Senior Construction Delivery Manager. Escalate issues via detailed reports.
* Coordinate with site functions (H&S, quality, surveillance, commercial, project controls, logistics) and other Construction Delivery Managers to maintain communication and timely reporting. Attend pre-start briefings and support delivery of key messages to the contractor’s organisation.
* Organise and conduct PLOD/PLOW meetings with the contractor, ensuring outputs are recorded and issued to the Senior Construction Delivery Manager. Undertake safety and/or assurance inspections in support of HSPI.
* Deliver projects, including construction sequencing, recovery plans and resource allocation.
* Understand obligations under the CDM Regulations.
* Write informative, concise and meaningful reports.
* Demonstrate excellent organisation and communication skills.
* Qualifications in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent vocational training and experience.
* SMSTS or IOSH qualification.
* Able to deliver results under pressure and manage multiple stakeholders.
* Experience of operating in a high-security environment is advantageous; Nuclear experience is advantageous but can be offset by experience in large Civil Engineering/Building/MEH projects.
