About the Role
This is an exciting time to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our estate. As Estates Manager, you'll lead the day-to-day operations of our Estates Office and oversee a diverse property portfolio, including commercial and residential assets. You'll manage rent reviews, lease agreements, and head leases, while delivering a high-quality, customer-focused service. As key managerial role, you'll ensure the estate is managed sustainably and in line with best practice, and support the regeneration of Dover Waterfront.
You'll also supervise a small team and be responsible for a £3.8m investment portfolio and circa £6m rental income across our operational and waterfront estate.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the property and estates office, supervising a small team
* Oversee a large variety of tenants and revenue across uses as broad as commercial, residential, statutory authorities and operational
* Administer and negotiate rent reviews, lease agreements and head lease to maximise value from the port estate
* Maintain excellent relationships with tenants, contractors, and internal departments to ensure smooth estate operations and continuous improvement
* Support regeneration delivery of the Waterfront including concessionary offering and place making
* Oversee the future use of buildings
* Develop Heritage initiatives & funding streams
What We're Looking For
Qualifications & Experience:
* MRICS qualified
* 3-5 years' experience in a similar role
* Commercial acumen with a strong background in landlord-tenant relations and property management
* Building surveying and maintenance knowledge
* Strong financial management skills, with experience of managing similar portfolio size
Skills & Attributes:
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills
* Commercially minded along with financial acumen with strong decision-making ability
* Analytical ability to develop excel models to help manage the port estate
* Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
* A collaborative manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment
