Office Administrator & HR Support
South Chard (onsite) | 30-40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (flexible)
Salary: £30,000 per annum (pro-rata for part-time)
Role overview
We're looking for a highly organised, reliable Office Administrator with HR support responsibilities to join our well-established textiles manufacturing business in South Chard. This is a varied, hands-on role supporting day-to-day office operations and providing administrative support across key HR processes.
Reporting to the General Manager, you'll also provide administrative support to a team of 9 department supervisors, helping keep the office and people processes running smoothly.
Key responsibilities
Office administration
Manage general office administration, including correspondence, filing and record keeping
Act as the first point of contact for visitors, phone calls and emails
Maintain office supplies and coordinate supplier orders
Provide admin support to the General Manager and department supervisors
Support production and management teams with day-to-day admin tasks
Ensure accurate data entry and maintenance of internal systems
HR support (administrative)
Assist with recruitment administration (job adverts, interview scheduling, onboarding paperwork)
Maintain employee records in line with data protection requirements
Support tracking of attendance, holidays and sickness records
Assist with inductions, training records and policy updates
Provide general administrative support to the HR function
General
Follow company procedures and policies and support continuous improvement
Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
What we're looking for
Essential
Proven experience in an office-based administrative role
Strong organisation and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Ability to build strong working relationships and work independently as well as part of a team
Desirable
Previous HR administration support experience
Experience within manufacturing/production
Experience supporting multiple stakeholders/departments
Basic understanding of HR processes and employment administration
