Vacancy: Service Engineer

The Vacancy
We are seeking a skilled engineer to join our team in Muir of Ord. As a service engineer with Scot JCB, you will visit various customer sites across the area to perform maintenance, repairs, and services on our customers' machines, working with brands such as JCB, Horsch, and Ktwo.

Key duties and responsibilities
* Repair and maintain machines on customer sites to meet manufacturer specifications
* Attend breakdowns and diagnose faults on machines
* Complete all relevant paperwork daily using a phone or tablet
* Submit daily timesheets and job cards
* Order parts accurately and collaborate with the parts department
* Work closely with the service supervisor
* Assist in training and mentoring apprentice engineers
* Carry out inspections and repairs at our depot as required, ensuring compliance with specifications and regulations
* Ensure machines are safe to operate and report any defects or unsafe equipment to management
The ideal candidate will have
* Relevant qualifications such as City and Guild, NVQ, or SVQ in Construction Plant, Agriculture, HGV, or Light Vehicle (essential)
* Experience with plant machinery, diesel engines, electrics, hydraulics, transmissions, and fault diagnosis using electronic diagnostic tools
* Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a busy environment
* Excellent customer service skills and ability to build rapport with clients
* A flexible, positive attitude and proactive approach to work
