My client is a business specialising in the repair and service of marine exhaust gas turbochargers for the shipping industry. With offices/ workshops and partners across the globe, they offer 24/7 top service to customers worldwide.

Due to constant growth and development, we have an exciting new opportunity within our engineering team. The position involves extensive international travel, and flexibility is expected from the post holder.

Field Service Engineer
Location:
United Kingdom - Southampton Workshop, with expectation to travel to company’s other workshops worldwide.
Responsibilities
* Servicing and repair of exhaust gas turbochargers.
* Working on turbochargers installed in ships of all sizes and at land-based power plants.
* Minimising downtime is critical. There will be times when the engineer will be required to work on a job for a sustained period to meet the customer’s needs
* Working in the company’s workshop and live within commuting distance.
About the Person
* A minimum of two years of experience working in a marine engineering position
* A minimum of two years of experience working on turbochargers manufactured by ABB/Accelleron, MAN or MET (essential)
* Experience of working on new generation turbochargers (desired)
* A problem solver and capable of working independently
* Prepared to spend periods of time away from home, including weekends with a flexible and positive attitude to work
* Experienced in using measuring equipment, recording results and comparing against expected data
* Excellent written and spoken English with report writing skills
* To hold a valid driving licence.
