Job Description
Role: Team Leader (Children Services)
Location: GCHSCP, Families for Children, Ladywell Business Centre, 94 Duke Street, Glasgow, G4 0UW
Hours: 35 hours per week
Contract Status: Permanent
Are you committed and experienced to support the Families for Children service in delivering quality care experiences for Glasgow's children? Do you have the skills to support children in maintaining connections with their birth families and others important to them, while providing guidance to foster and adoptive carers? We welcome your application!
Responsibilities:
1. Manage a team of Social Workers and Social Care workers supporting foster carers, children, young people, and their families.
2. Support children to reach their full potential and work towards a permanent future, respecting individual care plans.
3. Lead a team with a strengths-based, trauma-informed, and anti-poverty approach to ensure children's wellbeing.
4. Chair meetings such as foster carer reviews, placement support meetings, and facilitate foster carer preparation and support groups, sometimes outside standard hours.
5. Work effectively in a busy environment, maintaining a focus on children and families at the heart of decision-making.
6. Build relationships across teams and participate in national forums.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Degree/Diploma in Social Work or equivalent.
* Commitment to Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
* Experience in Family Placement work is desirable but not essential.
* Membership of the PVG Scheme and registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) are required.
