Teaching and Learning Support Assistant working in our 2 and 3 yr old room year old room- 3 days a week and Family support worker /deputy safeguarding officer for 2 days a week Teaching and Learning Support Assistan t Level 3 scp 3-4 for TLA ( 3 days) £24,027-£24,404 (full time equivalent) TLA ( 3 days) Family Support Worker Level 5 scp 7-12 for Family Support Worker ( 2 days) £24,790-£27,711 ( full time equivalent)- Family Support assistant ( 2 days) Skills and experience:- Family Support Assistant Develop and maintain effective contact and communications with parents/carers and families including home visits Work with a range of school staff to help plan strategies and interventions to address individual pupil issues Provide advice and guidance to families to reinforce their self-esteem and support pupil achievement Implement action plans with parents / carers and monitor and report on progress and achievements Signpost families to sources of advice and guidance Support school strategies to improve behaviour and attendance Work with external agencies, such as health professionals, Children’s Centres / Family Hubs Maintain pupil records and case files Undertake first day contact of parents/carers. Liaise with other staff regarding persistent absentees: follow through incomplete registrations and reasons for absence. Develop and deliver a programme of family-related activities to meet the needs of the school community. Take on the role of Deputy safeguarding officer, attend parent safeguarding meetings and support families with action plans and advice with the support of the Headteacher: Keep detailed records and write reports for meetings Attend safeguarding training as relevant and signpost / plan in school staff to attend relevant training Ensure all staff and governors CP level 1 is up to date Support the writing and delivery of the school safeguarding audit and PREVENT audit 17. will support in a team approach other adults, including students, parents, governors, external agencies 18. will support the maintenance and development of effective partnership working, all year transition / induction between ourselves and surrounding schools and PVI nursery settings within Treehouse Children’s Centre and others locally The school is committed to safeguarding. The governors are very pleased to announce an exciting opportunity to appoint an excellent Teaching and learning support assistant ( Level 2 practitioner) for 3 days a week combined with a 2 day Family Support role (including deputy safeguarding) to join our successful Nursery school. The unique role will allow you to get to know children in the classroom and families at parent / child workshops, which will also support the role as safeguarding assistant. We welcome applicants who have a desire to build on any safeguarding experience and learn more on the job, whilst supporting children and families in our nursery school. The role may be extended after a year, however if it is not the experience and training you will gain will be invaluable when applying for a permanent role in schools and academies in the future.
