Job Title: SEN Learning Support Assistant (Challenging Behaviour)
Location: Torbay, Devon
Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time / Temporary / Permanent (Flexible depending on the role)
Salary: £90 – £95 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)

We are currently seeking committed and experienced SEN Learning Support Assistants to work across a number of primary and secondary schools in the Torbay area.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs and other complex behavioural challenges.
* Assist class teachers in delivering tailored learning activities and managing classroom behaviour.
* Develop positive, trusting relationships with pupils to support their emotional well-being and learning progress.
* Use de-escalation strategies and behaviour management techniques to maintain a supportive learning environment.
* Work closely with SENCOs, teachers, and external professionals to implement and monitor EHCP targets.
Requirements:
* Previous experience working with children with SEN, particularly those with challenging behaviour.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* A calm, consistent, and resilient approach to behaviour management.
* A valid DBS on the update service (or willing to apply).
* Team Teach or other de-escalation training is highly desirable but not essential.
