Field Applications Engineer | Camera Systems & Applied AI | Applied AI | Stoke-on-Trent.
Have you got what it takes to succeed The following information should be read carefully by all candidates.
I’m working with a technology company developing intelligent camera and sensing systems that capture, analyse, and respond to live events in real time.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being out in the field - setting up equipment, troubleshooting on-site, and ensuring complex camera systems run smoothly in dynamic environments. You’ll work across both hardware and software: from configuring multi-camera rigs and calibration, through to running tests and supporting the computer-vision engineers who develop the algorithms.
It’s practical, varied, and collaborative: one week you might be at an event overseas running system checks, the next back in the lab validating results and suggesting improvements.
What you’ll do
• Configure, test, and deploy multi-camera systems for live events and performance measurement.
• Calibrate cameras, sensors, and optical components to ensure accurate data capture.
• Work alongside computer-vision engineers to integrate Python/OpenCV pipelines.
• Support on-site troubleshooting, validation, and data collection.
• Feed insights from the field back into hardware and software improvements.
You’ll bring
• A strong understanding of camera systems, optics, or imaging hardware.
• Good working knowledge of Python and OpenCV / PyTorch / TensorFlow.
• A hands-on mindset and willingness to travel for live deployments (UK & international).
• An interest in how AI and vision systems interact with the physical world.
Please note, this is a hybrid role so will only consider local candidates without need of visa / sponsorship.
