Position Title: Logistics Coordinator
Location: Tamworth, UK Onsite
Hours: 07:00 - 16:00, or 08:00 - 17:00
Position Overview
We are seeking an organized and proactive Logistics Coordinator to support logistics operations within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for coordinating inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring compliance with dangerous goods regulations, and supporting day-to-day logistics activities to meet operational and customer requirements.
The successful candidate will work closely with warehouse teams, freight providers, and internal departments to maintain safe, efficient, and compliant logistics processes
Primary Responsibilities
1. Coordinate daily logistics activities for inbound raw materials and outbound finished goods.
2. Support shipping operations across air, sea, and road freight channels.
3. Monitor shipment schedules and escalate delays or issues where required.
4. Prepare and check dangerous goods documentation, labelling, packaging, and shipping paperwork.
5. Ensure hazardous materials are handled and stored according to company and regulatory requirements. Work closely with production, warehouse, procurement, and customer service teams to support operational requirements.
6. Assist in resolving transportation and delivery issues in a timely manner.
7. Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve logistics efficiency and reduce costs.
8. Follow established logistics procedures and contribute to process improvements.
9. Liaise with freight forwarders, carriers, and third-party logistics providers regarding shipment bookings and tracking.
10. Update ERP and logistics systems accurately to maintain shipment and inventory records.
11. Ensure shipping documentation is completed accurately and on time.
Minimum Requirements
12. Good understanding of shipping documentation, customs processes, and transport regulations.
13. Experience using ERP systems and logistics platforms (SAP, Oracle, TMS/WMS preferred).
14. Strong organisational and communication skills.
15. Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
16. Good attention to detail and commitment to safety and compliance.
17. Experience working with freight forwarders and international shipments.
Preferred Requirements
18. Minimum 2–3 years of logistics experience within a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
19. Knowledge of ADR or other hazardous goods transport regulations.
20. Experience handling IMDG and IATA-regulated goods
21. Valid IMDG and/or IATA DGR certification desirable.
