Senior Managing Lawyer - Employment and Information Law - 31583

This role will lead and manage a team providing legal advice and support to the Environment Agency in all aspects of Employment Law and Information Law.
Key responsibilities include:
* Handling employment law matters, including conducting Employment Tribunal proceedings.
* Managing disciplinary, grievance cases, industrial action, and TUPE processes.
* Providing legal advice on data requests under the Data Protection Act, the Freedom of Information Act, and the Environmental Information Regulations.
* Responding to complaints to the Information Commissioner’s Office and conducting litigation in the First Tier and Upper Tribunals.
* Ensuring legal compliance across the Environment Agency.
* Building relationships with internal clients, HR, and staff.
* Owning and delivering legal issues aligned with the Legal and Audit Services Leadership Group.
The team comprises six lawyers across England. The role involves advising on employment and information law and maintaining strong organizational relationships.
**Experience and skills required:**
* Leadership and team management experience.
* Handling complex legal issues.
* Extensive experience in Employment Law and/or Information Law.
* Knowledge of Public Law and Governance related to employment.
* Up-to-date legislation knowledge or ability to learn quickly.
* Ability to produce detailed legal briefs and correspondence for senior levels.
* Experience briefing at director/board/government level.
* Experience working nationally or with government bodies.
