Day‑to‑day excellence for operations and service levels
Bring an eye for detail and a proactive approach as you manage a small team within a busy and sophisticated cold store operation. The role offers the opportunity to develop towards broader operational responsibilities over time, including supporting and deputising for the Operations Manager when required.
* Supervise the day‑to‑day activities of the Cold Store Operation, meeting the priorities set by the Site and Operations Managers and eliminating backlogs of work or vehicle delays;
* Ensure daily, weekly and monthly checks, including those required for the site HACCP plan, are completed in full and on time;
* Plan and manage labour resources, including holidays and absence;
* Ensure safe and efficient storage and warehouse space management;
* Report any problems and non‑conformances to the Site and Operations Managers and work to resolve these;
* Maintain a proactive dialogue with Stock Controllers to ensure clear communication at all times;
* When required, deputise for the Operations Manager, supporting broader operational decision‑making and ensuring continuity of service.
Working hours & flexibility
This role is a mid‑shift supervisor position, with standard working hours of 10:00 – 18:30. Flexibility is essential; you may be required to work outside of these hours to support late‑arriving lorries, which can involve staying later to assist with unloading. During busy periods, shifts may vary. Overtime is part of the role. You will also share weekend cover with other supervisors, which includes approximately 4 hours on a Saturday morning for a fixed weekly order.
Thermotraffic is part of the Nichirei Logistics Group, a global leader in temperature‑controlled logistics. You will be working within an international organization that offers the resources and support needed to perform your role at the highest level.
The Thermotraffic offer
