General Purpose

The Custom Sales Account Executive is responsible for developing new business and growing existing customer relationships to achieve sales goals. This role focuses on identifying opportunities, presenting YESCO’s custom signage solutions, and guiding customers through the sales process from initial contact to project handoff. Success in this position requires strong relationship-building skills, industry knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple opportunities while delivering a high level of customer service.

A Day in the Life

In this role, your day may include prospecting for new business, meeting with customers on-site, and presenting custom signage solutions. You spend time preparing proposals, following up on leads, and coordinating with internal teams to move projects forward. Throughout the day, you manage your sales pipeline, respond to customer inquiries, and build relationships that lead to repeat business. The role requires strong organization, consistent communication, and the ability to manage multiple opportunities at different stages of the sales cycle.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Develop and maintain a pipeline of new and existing customer opportunities to meet sales targets

2. Conduct sales presentations and site visits with prospective and current customers

3. Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate custom signage solutions

4. Prepare and present proposals, pricing, and project scopes

5. Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers to support repeat business and referrals

6. Generate new business through prospecting, networking, and cold outreach when needed

7. Manage assigned territory and schedule sales activities to maximize efficiency and coverage

8. Coordinate with internal teams, including design, estimating, permitting, and project management, to support project execution

9. Track and manage sales activities using company systems and tools

10. Address customer questions, concerns, and objections in a professional and timely manner

11. Maintain a high level of professionalism in all customer and internal interactions

12. Stay informed on industry trends, materials, and local code requirements related to signage

13. Support project handoff to internal teams to ensure accurate execution of sold work

14. Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor or management, as needed to meet business needs

Requirements and Qualifications

15. Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience

16. Minimum of 3 to 5 years of outside sales experience required

17. Sign industry sales experience strongly preferred

18. Proven ability to develop new business and close sales opportunities

19. Strong presentation, negotiation, and communication skills

20. Ability to build and maintain effective customer relationships

21. Experience managing multiple opportunities and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment

22. Understanding of sales processes, including prospecting, qualification, and closing

23. Ability to work independently and as part of a team

24. High level of professionalism, integrity, and accountability

25. Basic math skills and the ability to prepare accurate pricing and proposals

26. Working knowledge of sign materials, construction methods, and finishes preferred

27. Familiarity with local sign codes and permitting processes preferred

28. Proficient in basic computer operations, including internet navigation and digital file management

29. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel

30. Familiarity with Google Workspace tools, including Docs, Sheets, and Drive

31. Ability to operate within Windows-based systems and standard business software environments

32. Ability to learn, understand, and effectively use internal systems such as NetSuite, Workday, and other company software tools

33. Strong attention to detail when entering, reviewing, and managing digital information

34. Valid driver’s license required

35. Ability to travel within the assigned territory as needed

36. Ability to work in an office and field environment, including visiting job sites in varying weather conditions

37. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and perform a variety of tasks as needed
