This is a full-time, on-site role for a Pharmacy Compounder, based in London.
You will support the end-to-end preparation of personalised medicines within a UK distance-selling pharmacy that compounds unlicensed topical treatments. This includes dispensing support, non-sterile compounding of creams, packing, stock control, and dispatch.
This is a hands-on role across both the cleanroom (production) and dispensary/warehouse operations, ensuring medicines are prepared accurately, safely, and in full compliance with GPhC and MHRA requirements.
You will play a key role in maintaining quality standards, batch traceability, and inspection readiness at all times.
Key responsibilities
Compounding & Production
· Prepare and compound non-sterile topical medicines (e.g. creams, gels) in line with approved formulations and SOPs
· Operate compounding equipment according to defined parameters
· Weigh and handle raw materials accurately using calibrated balances
· Follow defined manufacturing processes, including phase-based mixing and API incorporation
· Complete batch records, including recording actual weights and process steps
· Ensure homogeneity and quality of finished products prior to release
Dispensing & Prescription Preparation
· Assist with prescription picking and preparation under pharmacist supervision
· Ensure correct product selection, labelling, and assembly of prescriptions
· Maintain accuracy across batch numbers, expiry dates, and patient-specific details
· Support final checks and handover to pharmacists for clinical verification
Packing & Dispatch
· Pick, pack, and prepare patient orders in line with dispatch schedules
· Ensure packaging is accurate, secure, and compliant with requirements
· Support same-day dispatch targets and courier handovers
· Manage returns and ensure appropriate documentation and handling
Goods-In & Stock Management
· Receive and check deliveries (identity, quantity, batch, expiry/re-test date, condition)
· Store raw materials and packaging correctly, including segregation and quarantine where required
· Maintain stock accuracy, rotation (FEFO), and replenishment
· Support stock counts and inventory control processes
Quality & Compliance
· Complete all documentation accurately (batch records, logs, cleaning records, stock records)
· Follow SOPs, GMP/GDP principles, and internal quality standards at all times
· Maintain cleanroom standards, including cleaning and environmental controls
· Identify and escalate deviations, errors, or quality concerns immediately
· Support inspection readiness and audit requirements
Team & Operations
· Work closely with Pharmacists, Production, and Operations teams
· Support a high-performance, quality-focused culture
· Contribute to continuous improvement in processes and workflows
Requirements
Essential
· Fluent English (spoken and written)
· High attention to detail and accuracy (weights, batch numbers, labelling)
· Experience in pharmacy, healthcare, manufacturing, laboratory or warehouse operations
· Ability to follow structured SOPs and processes precisely
· Basic IT skills (email, spreadsheets, internal systems)
· Strong organisation, reliability, and timekeeping
· Comfortable working across both cleanroom and warehouse environments
Desirable
· Previous experience in pharmacy compounding or production (non-sterile)
· Previous experience working in laboratories incorporating GLP into daily work
· Experience working in GMP, GDP, or regulated environments
· Familiarity with batch documentation and traceability requirements
· Interest in dermatology, personalised medicine, or pharmaceutical manufacturing
