The Estates & Facilities Manager is responsible for the effective management, maintenance, and development of the organisation's buildings, grounds, and associated infrastructure. The role ensures the site is safe, compliant, well-maintained, supports operational needs and the visitor experience. Supporting the Chief Operating Officer on projects and planning relating to site development and maintenance, along with managing and building relationships with Bovington Garrison and MOD contractors. The role works closely with the Health & Safety co-ordinator ensuring compliance and safety across the site. Key Accountabilities: Site & Operations Management Manage the maintenance, repair and presentation of all buildings, external and internal areas and site infrastructure. Develop and deliver planned preventative maintenance schedules. Manage relationship with Bovington Garrison and MOD site contractors. Oversee security, access, fire systems and site safety features including CCTV and intruder alarms. Work with the wider museum team on planning space utilisation. Manage out of hours call out procedures, including training and participation. Work closely with the Health & Safety Advisor on COSHH and risk assessments for all facilities departments Work closely with the IT Manager and Team to ensure smooth operations of the IT service on site for staff and visitors Budget and Resource Management Manage the site and facilities budget, including forecasting, reporting and cost control Identify and deliver cost saving and environmental opportunities and sustainability improvements Oversee the procurement of materials, equipment and services Project Management Support the Chief Operating Officer on capital expenditure projects for maintenance, refurbishment and development. Project manage facilities plans ensuring minimum disruption to operational activities. Team Management Management of the maintenance team and Duty Manager, as well as on-site operators such as MOD cleaners Ensure adequate staffing for operational cover, security and maintenance Events & Public Engagement Support Support Events and Education teams in delivering public programmes and special activities, including school holiday events and larger public events such as TANKFEST Provide tools and logistical support for events. General Duties Act as a Duty Manager, first aider, and fire marshal as required. What you'll bring : Experience in the following is essential: Managing a multi-functional team in a facilities role Hands on experience of managing buildings, infrastructure and grounds Good working knowledge of hard FM Demonstrable contractor management experience Experience in the following is desirable: Managing capital projects Working in a visitor led environment External stakeholder relationship management You will be highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and strong budget management capability IOSH/NEBOSH qualifications would be advantageous Advert close date - 15th April 2026 Interviews will be held - 21st April 2026
