Workshop Supervisor/Chargehand
Join us as a Workshop Supervisor/ Chargehand for Stagecoach Blairgowrie
Salary £19.61 Per Hour plus a £1500 sign-on bonus
Normal hours of work: Mon - Friday, day shift, but flexibility is required as the role will require some afternoon & weekend shifts to be worked as and when needed.

About the role
As a Workshop Supervisor/ Chargehand you will ensure strong teams are built in the depot, by consistently delivering outstanding service.
What will you be doing?
1. To monitor the daily running of the depot and all engineering staff.
2. To carry out repairs and diagnosis on vehicles as required.
3. To fully comply with all HS & E legislation along with Stagecoach policies.
4. To guide other staff as required.
5. To allocate planned and unplanned work to engineering staff.
6. To manage labour over time in line with set authorization limits, as set by Workshop Manager at Perth Depot
7. Ensure the engineering vehicle status board and daily garage log are updated to reflect any changes that take place.
8. Liaise with the operations department to deal with changeovers and breakdowns in the most effective way to minimize lost mileage.
9. Manage vehicle cleaning, fuelling, oil checks, and parking.
10. Processing vehicle defect cards in line with engineering standard operating procedures.
Who are we looking for?
11. Minimum level 3 NVQ standard or equivalent (i.e., City & Guilds level 1 & 2) in a relevant Vehicle Repair subject.
12. To be fully conversant with the safe operation of workshop equipment
13. Must be in the possession of, or capable of obtaining a full PCV license.
We'll provide your overalls and all the tools and equipment needed.
