An exciting new opportunity for two apprentices to learn the skills needed for a career in horticulture in this varied role. The team are ready to support you in your training and career.
Duties will include, but not limited to;
* Assist in the building of high end gardens from garden designs
* Work as part of a team to create gardens in an efficient manor
* Participate in building and digging tasks as required for various projects.
* Complete apprenticeship work to obtain diploma and a full time role will be available for the right person.
* Collaborate with senior landscapers to ensure tasks are carried out as requested and safely
* Be respectful of the clients as you are working in clients homes.
* Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring all equipment is stored properly.
* Follow safety protocols while working on-site to ensure personal and team safety.
* The job will be labouring to the skilled landscapers and learning the job of landscaping
* The job is a trainee so learning all aspects of efficient site running and labouring
* mixing concrete, manual handling of materials both hard and planting, irrigation system fitting, digging out trenches, fencing, fibre glassing and much more.
Each site is different so there is lots to learn and be involved with.
Desired Skills and Qualities
* A keen interest in outdoor spaces and landscapes
* A reasonable level of fitness but this will develop over time.
* Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
* Good and effective communication skills - able to listen and take direction.
* Willingness to learn new skills and take on challenges.
Desired Qualifications
* Preferably have a driving license or about to get one due to locations

* Yes a permanent role available for the right candidate
Training
* Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment.
* The applicant will be working towards a Level 2 Horticulture and Landscape Operative Apprenticeship.
* The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship.
* The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship.
* You will also need to achieve Level 3 award in Emergency First Aid at Work and Level 2 Principles of Safe Handling and Application of Pesticides Guidance or Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of Pesticides before undertaking the End Point Assessment.
