Our day will begin at the delivery hub before heading out on a route. Your responsibilities include:
Responsibilities
- Being an ambassador for the John Lewis brand with great customer service as your number one priority.
- Coach, develop and assess your delivery driver colleagues and give them the knowledge they need to perform at their best and represent our brand.
- Help load up your lorry with the day's deliveries working alongside the warehouse team.
- Demonstrate respect and courtesy for the customer's home and handle unexpected situations to find the best possible solution for your customers.
- Install products efficiently and quickly for our customers and demonstrate how they work once installed.
- Keep up to date with new products and technologies to help you perform your role at your best.
- Maintain a safe working environment.
Please note this role involves heavy lifting: many large items such as sofas, white goods, sports equipment, furniture, beds, and mattresses.
Qualifications
- Previous installation experience is required.
- Manual C1 UK driving licence (with a maximum of 6 points).
- DCPC or Drivers Qualification Card and Tachograph Card by the first day.
- Previous experience driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle.
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
- Great verbal communication skills.
- Good understanding of technology.
Desirable Skills
- Experience in-home delivery and installation of electrical and furniture products.
- Installation and disconnection of white goods.
- Experience with electrical installations (including integrated appliances) and TV wall mounts.
- Evidence of the skills to complete the replacement of domestic light liftings, accessories and cooking appliances.
- Assembly of flat pack.
Compensation & Benefits
In addition to your contractual pay, any time worked between 18:00 – 22:00 will attract an Evening Premium at £3.25 per hour, and any time worked between 22:00 – 06:00 will attract a Night Premium at £4.25 per hour. This will also apply to existing Partners who have enrolled into Enhanced Hours Premium arrangements.
