Downs Syndrome Support- Primary School Based Agency: Teaching Personnel Location: Wirral (CH46) Start Date: End of February 2026 Contract: Full Time At Teaching Personnel, we are delighted to announce that we are currently working with inclusive, inviting and family orientated school who are seeking a dedicated and friendly individual to provide support to a pupil with Downs Syndrome in Year 3. This will be a fulfilling and exciting opportunity for someone to make a real impact in the child’s educational and social journey as well as developing their own skills. Your Responsibilities will include: Providing daily support to a Year 3 Pupil with Downs Syndrome on a 1:1 basis. Be able to implement appropriate tailored strategies that will support focus and behaviour management in and out of the classroom. Assist the class teacher with any lesson delivery. Encourage positive social and emotional interactions for the child which in turn will allow confident building. Liaise with the SENCO, child’s parents and any other external agencies involved. Reflecting on your own practice and putting together clear actions plans where improvement may be required. About the school: Ofsted Rated Good and Outstanding. What we are looking for: Experience working as a 1:1 support worker or teaching assistant within a school or EYFS setting. Experience of working with children with Downs syndrome or additional needs. Enhanced DBS which is on the update service (or willing to apply for one). Be able to take an understanding, proactive and flexible approach when supporting the child.
