You will join a dedicated team of approximately 70 staff, the majority of whom are technicians. You will work within a smaller team, in an animal holding room. Your responsibilities will include ensuring that excellent animal care is provided and that high welfare standards are met. Animal health and welfare are of paramount importance to all staff at the LMB and are essential in achieving valid scientific results.
After successfully completing your first 3‑month probationary period, paid overtime will be available. This will be for one weekend (2 sessions) every month and paid at £126 per session, plus travel costs. A weekend session is approximately 3 hours each day. There are opportunities to work additional paid overtime on weekends and Bank Holidays via a volunteering system.
The role is based at the Babraham Research Campus and there may be occasional travel to our main lab on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.
