The Colte Partnership is currently looking for a medical secretary to join our friendly and hard-working secretary team on a part-time basis for 15 hours per week. The ideal candidate will be able to undertake all secretarial duties.

Main duties of the job
1. Carry out the processes for eReferral/choose and book (or any future e-referral software), ensuring referrals are sent to the correct services as quickly as possible. Ensure ghost appointments are booked where necessary.
2. Follow-up on any referrals that have not been processed within the expected timescale.
3. Follow-up on any patients who have not actioned their referrals or collected their paperwork.
4. Complete any tasks sent by the clinical staff relating to letters, referrals, or clinic attendances.
5. Provide cover for members of the referral team during periods of sickness and annual leave.
6. Receive incoming and initiate outgoing telephone calls to facilitate timely and appropriate communication, taking messages and dealing with queries.
7. Assist in in-house data analysis of referral processing.
8. Be aware of referral pathways and assist clinicians in ensuring referrals are made to the most cost-effective service.

Experience
* Knowledge and experience of using medical terminology is advantageous but not essential.
* Experience in primary care is preferred.
* Use of SystmOne and/or Emis is advantageous but not essential, as training can be provided.
