Responsibilities
* Provide independent diagnostic Audiological testing of adults and children, ensuring safe equipment use, accurate calibration and record maintenance.
* Deliver a comprehensive independent hearing aid service to adults and children, including determining care plans, involving carers and families where appropriate.
* Actively engage in clinical audit, research and governance for the Audiology service, designing and completing audits, participating in data collection for larger projects and contributing to evidence‑based protocols.
* Plan and prioritise elements of own workload within the framework of service delivery priorities defined by the line manager, and supervise trainees/students and volunteers as required.
* Maintain the smooth running of a specified area of the audiology service as determined.
Qualifications
* At least 1 year’s experience working as a band 5 Audiologist.
* BSc in Audiology (or equivalent).
About the role
The position will be based in the adult audiology department, working across Audiology sites at Whipps Cross University Hospital, a community site in Leytonstone and a community health centre in Loughton. The department provides comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitative Audiology services to an extensive population covering Waltham Forest and Redbridge London boroughs.
