About the Role
:
As a Continuous Improvement Manager within our Caerphilly branch, you will be responsible for day-to-day management and delivery of our responsive repair service in one of the following areas, Cardiff West (Cardiff outskirts, Bridgend, Swansea and sporadic properties throughout stock), Cardiff East (Cardiff city), Caerphilly and Blaenau Gwent. Responsible for meeting all Key Performance indicators and delivery of innovation and continuous improvement within the areas of responsibility. There is a responsibility for operatives and subcontractors.
1. Monitor and control all repair work within a designated geographical area or property type, including pre- and post-inspections to ensure quality and compliance
2. Mentor Operatives and Trainees, promoting safe working practices and ensuring full adherence to Health & Safety guidelines
3. Oversee the progress and completion of works carried out by Operatives and Subcontractors, ensuring alignment with term briefs and service expectations
4. Manage the deployment and performance of Operatives and Subcontractors, ensuring they meet company standards for work quality, customer service, and Health & Safety procedures
5. Drive contract performance by managing teams effectively to meet KPIs, minimise default notices and penalties, and deliver high levels of customer satisfaction
6. Ensure property compliance with legal and regulatory standards, including fire safety, gas, and electrical certifications
7. Coordinate emergency repairs and out-of-hours response plans to maintain service continuity and responsiveness
8. Facilitate workshops and feedback sessions to gather insights, promote innovation, and embed a culture of continuous improvement
9. Monitor performance metrics and report progress to senior leadership, highlighting impact, risks, and opportunities for further enhancement
10. Support procurement activities, including subcontractor selection, evaluation, and contract management
11. Deliver training on continuous improvement tools and techniques to staff, encouraging knowledge sharing and professional development
12. Diagnosing issues within properties that have been reported with Damp and Mould reports
13. Performance management of operatives and investigations where appropriate
Role Criteria:
14. Experience in the above duties
15. Experience of working in Social Housing
16. Experience of supervising Operatives and Subcontractors
17. Knowledge of Repairs Maintenance
18. Excellent communication skills
19. People management skills
20. Negotiating skills
21. Trade, management or health and Safety qualification would be desirable
