Woking & Sam Beare Hospice are pleased to announce the following position:

Fundraising Events Coordinator

We are a patient-centred charity that delivers palliative and end of life care to those with advanced life-limiting illnesses, who live in North West Surrey. We care for patients and provide support to families and carers in the community as well as in our Inpatient Unit and Wellbeing Centre at the Hospice. You will, therefore, be joining a passionate and dedicated team of professionals that make a real difference to the families across Surrey community.

A successful Fundraising Events Coordinator will have:

1. Experience in creating Risk Assessments
2. Strong written and verbal communication skills with diverse audiences
3. Excellent organisational skills and ability to work to strict deadlines
4. Have knowledge of licensing regulations
5. Strong understanding of GDPR principles and best practice
6. Ability to use email campaign software and CMS platforms
7. Ability to work independently while being an effective team player
8. High attention to detail and a methodical approach
9. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships
10. Strong analytical and decision-making skills
11. Experience negotiating and managing external suppliers

A successful candidate will have:

12. GCSE (or equivalent) English and Mathematics
13. Proven Project Management experience involving, working with multiple partners and stakeholders
14. Experience in event management
15. Experience of budgeting, financial planning and working to income/expenditure targets
16. Experience of writing business proposals
17. Experience presenting to Senior Leadership, Board or equivalent audiences
18. Experience of fundraising / sponsorship
19. Holds a full clean driving license
20. Flexible approach to working, including availability for out of hours events

Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not limiting in this position.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
