About Us:
Located in the heart of Edinburgh, Craigleith Vets4Pets is a well-established and welcoming practice with a loyal client base. Our modern, fully equipped surgery is based within a Pets at Home store, providing easy access to excellent facilities and a collaborative working environment. You’ll be joining a passionate and skilled team made up of two full-time vets, two part-time vets, two RVNs, a dedicated Practice Manager, and three client care advisors.
We pride ourselves on offering advanced services in emergency and critical care, feline nursing, dermatology, and clinical animal behaviour. Our nurse-led clinics and behaviour consultations are highly regarded, and we actively support further training in areas that interest you.
About the Role:
As Head RVN, you will lead the nursing team with confidence and compassion. You’ll play a key role in the daily coordination of the practice, ensuring high standards of care, developing team members, and helping shape the clinical direction of the practice. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the day-to-day running of the nursing team, acting as a role model in your nursing duties, supporting and developing RVNs and VCAs in their clinical skills, and assisting with appraisals, clinical audits, and driving continuous improvement. You’ll be expected to inspire and motivate your team to deliver the best possible patient and client care.
We’re looking for a forward-thinking, enthusiastic RVN with a minimum of four years post-qualification experience. Excellent clinical and customer service skills are essential, as is a genuine passion for animal welfare. Previous experience in a leadership or Head RVN role is desirable, but we’re equally open to experienced RVNs who are ready to take the next step in their career.
We are a nurse training practice and as such we need you to be a clinical coach already or willing to become one.
This is a Full-Time role working 40 hours per week, across 4 days per week. This role will include working 1 in 3 weekends with time off in lieu. Rotas are released ahead of time to support your work-life balance.
