What You’ll Be Doing Client Onboarding & Financial Stabilization Lead onboarding of new clients, including cleanup and resolution of complex accounting issues Analyze financial records to identify inconsistencies, errors, and risks Establish clean, reliable financial baselines before transitioning to ongoing service Communicate findings and required corrections clearly to internal team and leadership Accounting Operations & Oversight Review and oversee monthly close processes across a portfolio of clients Ensure accuracy of financial statements, reconciliations, and supporting schedules Manage and/or review: o Sales tax filings o Accounts payable processes o Business property tax filings o 1099 preparation and compliance o Corporate renewals and state filings o Payroll processing and related reporting Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies proactively — not reactively Client Interaction & Support Participate in client communication, especially during onboarding and issue resolution Support client relationships by providing clear, confident explanations of financial matters Build trust through responsiveness, accuracy, and professionalism Process Improvement Identify inefficiencies in accounting workflows and recommend improvements Help standardize onboarding and monthly close procedures Contribute to building scalable systems as the firm grows Who This Role Is For Strong accountants who want more ownership, not just task execution Professionals who take pride in clean, accurate financials Individuals who are comfortable digging into messy books and fixing them properly People who can communicate clearly with both internal teams and clients Accountants who want a path toward leadership, but are willing to earn it Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 5–8 years of accounting experience (public accounting or client-facing experience preferred) Strong understanding of: o General ledger and reconciliations o Financial statement preparation o Multi-entity or multi-client environments Experience with QuickBooks Online (required) Experience with sales tax, payroll, and compliance filings Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Clear and professional communication skills CPA or EA is a plus, but not required What This Job Is Not Not data entry or basic bookkeeping Not a siloed, back-office role Not a firm where you’re left to figure everything out without structure Not a burnout environment with constant fire drills
