Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Academics is seeking experienced Teaching Assistants to support students with social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH) for a full-time, term-time contract starting ASAP. This position may lead to a permanent role.
The school is located in New Milton and caters to pupils aged 7-16 who find mainstream education challenging. It was rated 'Good' by Ofsted in 2019, with inspectors noting that students make strong progress and often successfully return to mainstream schools, achieving significant improvements in social and emotional development.
The school emphasizes recognizing and overcoming barriers to education through detailed assessments, targeted work, coaching, and self-reflection. They focus on helping students manage their emotions, develop social skills, and achieve academic progress, addressing issues such as social skills deficits, self-awareness, motivation, self-regulation, and empathy.
Your role will involve working on a 1:1 basis and assisting in classes across the school as needed. Experience supporting children with SEMH is essential.
