What you will do
Field Line Managers are pivotal in the ongoing coaching and development of a team of our skilled engineers. With a requirement of excellent communication and customer service skills along with people management and the ability to develop and manage a team, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of successful service engineers in a very fast paced transactional environment.
How you will do it
1. Organise the day-to-day duties and operation of the team, resolve operational problems, deal with customers and liaise with other members of staff.
2. Be responsible for the implementation of procedures for the execution of work, briefing instructions to the staff in a timely fashion and ensuring that best practice is exercised.
3. Working with the planning team, plan and schedule manpower and equipment requirements for programmed jobs, guaranteeing that the jobs are completed within the specified time frame and budget allocated.
4. Management and monitoring of engineers’ documentation to ensure both accuracy and expediency, including certifying timesheets for correct hour booking and appropriation.
5. Conduct regular safety and quality audits on the Engineers and Sub-Contractors to ensure that the employees are using the correct equipment in the correct manner.
6. Manage and monitor Health & Safety of allocated staff and Sub-Contractors, ensuring compliance with all legislation and Tyco’s Zero Harm policy is embedded.
7. Identify training needs by means of regular assessment with the engineers to identify any shortfalls and encourage the development of the team. This includes conducting annual appraisals and the direct management of designated team of engineers.
8. Proactively manage work in hand to ensure accuracy of forecast and job completion. Monitor and control allocated job budgets and justify variations to these. Manage customer relationships and minimize disputes whilst liaising directly with the Credit Control Department.
What we look for
Essential:-
9. Driving license
10. Had or have previous experience working in a customer facing environment
11. Excellent communication and customer service skills
12. Ability to deal with new and unexpected situations with a proactive and professional approach. Ability to build strong relationships and inspire and influence others.
Preferred:-
13. Experience within Fire & Security industry
14. People management skills with the ability to develop and manage a team, preferably within a field manager role
15. P&L experience
