Bombardier’s Business Aircraft London Service Centre in Biggin Hill is part of an award-winning network and is the flagship of Bombardier’s European operation. This Base and Line Maintenance Centre is the fastest-growing Service Centre in Europe and the largest Business Aircraft OEM in the UK. Role Overview
This position is primarily for an Interior Specialist but falls under the job category of Mechanic.
Key Responsibilities
* Adhere to Bombardier General Work Requirements.
* Fabricate, install, and refurbish aircraft interior equipment and furnishings according to work orders or customer requests, including carpeting, upholstery, card tables, side panels, glare shields, and aircraft cabinets.
* Comply with environmental health and safety policies and procedures.
* Participate in 5-S activities.
* Perform work safely and efficiently, documenting all work per manuals and regulations.
* Perform mechanical and electrical removals and installations.
* Assist with other maintenance disciplines as needed.
* Travel internationally or assist at off-site locations if required.
* Perform additional work during slow periods, including drop-ins and planned maintenance.
* Clean aircraft as required.
* Coordinate workload, overtime, and job assignments for team members.
* Provide technical guidance to team members to promote proficiency and troubleshoot issues.
* Monitor daily activities, report issues and risks.
* Provide status updates through verbal and written reports.
* Oversee activities and document work using SOPs, AMMs, SRMs, SBs, scripts, and tally books.
* Assist in establishing training plans for the team.
Candidate Profile
* Minimum of 5 years of interior experience, such as wood finish and soft goods (auto, RV, boat, etc.), or at least 3 years with 2 years of leadership/supervisory experience.
* At least 1 year of corporate aircraft experience, preferably with Bombardier.
* Effective leadership skills.
* Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills.
* Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain effective working relationships.
* Mechanical aptitude.
* Basic PC skills.
* Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally about aircraft status.
* Experience interpreting engineering drawings.
* Skill in cabinet dismantling, hardware removal, and veneer finishing.
* Experience with sanding, prepping, and touching up veneers.
* Ability to match and apply stains and paints, and knowledge of spraying polyester and urethane coatings.
* Experience with aircraft touch-up and masking/unmasking components.
