As a Senior Analyst within our Wilton Inorganic Analysis (IA) Laboratory, you will have excellent communication skills with ability to clearly convey processes, results, and key messages to build rapport, quickly and effectively. You will have previous experience of handling chemicals and working in a similar role in an Inorganic Analysis laboratory environment (ICP-MS, ICP-OES, XRF, IC).
Required skills and experience:
1. Preferably some previous experience of handling chemicals and working in a similar role in an Inorganic Analysis laboratory environment (ICP-MS, ICP-OES, XRF, IC).
2. Degree level required within relevant science or hold significant experience which has been obtained within a scientific or industry setting.
3. Clear written and verbal communications skills with the ability to clearly convey processes, results and key messages to build rapport, quickly and effectively.
4. Knowledge and application of appropriate systems and procedures relevant to scientific and analytical methodologies, required regulatory standards, research/regulatory procedures and instructions.
5. Knowledge of laboratory-based safety procedures, COSHH, laboratory performance standards and preferably experience of quality systems ISO17025/GxP.
6. Customer Focused with “can do” attitude.
7. Strong numeracy skills with the knowledge of calculating and tabulating results is essential.
8. IT literate.
9. Some knowledge of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Industry.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
You will be an integral part of our Technical Team in preparing and analysing samples using a variety of IA techniques, reporting results and when fully trained, communicating directly with our clients. A full program of bespoke training will be provided based on skill level and previous experience. This role will give you the chance to develop within the team and the broader organisation.
Key activities:
10. Trained in practical aspects of multiple techniques, competent to generate useful data and to recognise artefacts.
11. Follow a variety of methods and have some basic interpretation skills.
12. Reporting of results and performing laboratory investigations/problem solving.
13. Exposure to clients’ problems, products and processes, able to work with clients effectively.
14. Competent to plan their own time over extended periods, meeting agreed deadlines and keeping a good level of communication to stakeholders.
15. Work priorities determined through Project Manager and Delivery Manager.
16. Interest in activities outside of the main role. personal development.
