Job overview
The Community Children’s Nursing Team is part of an Integrated Service for Disabled Children within a wider service system encompassing Acute and Community Services. The team needs to evolve to meet the challenging needs of local children in the borough. It provides care for children aged 0-19 who require nursing care at home or in educational settings. An opportunity has arisen for a term-time only, Band 5 Special School nurse. The post will be based mainly at Beatrice Tate Special Needs School for pupils aged 11-19, with potential rotations across other sites when necessary.
Main duties of the job
The role aims to deliver nursing care, support, training, and advice to meet the needs of children and young people and their parents/carers within Stephen Hawking and Beatrice Tate special needs schools.

* RSCN / RN Child with current registration
* Understanding of equal opportunities and its impact on practice
* Knowledge of health-related issues affecting children
* Understanding of the needs of diverse cultural backgrounds
* Knowledge of multidisciplinary teamwork with children with complex needs
* Educated to degree level or working towards it
* Specialist Community Public Health Qualification
Experience
