Same shifts as lab technicians (7am to 3pm or 3pm to 11pm). Shifts between 7am to 11pm for permanent roles. Will work 5 days out of 7 in a week (will include weekends sometimes - need to be flexible). Temporary roles will be 8am to 5pm.
Main Responsibilities
1. Performing sample processing and analysis in accordance with project and quality documentation.
2. Perform lab maintenance tasks and cleaning.
3. Assist in maintaining sample integrity by following sample storage procedures.
4. Follow all applicable Policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Study documentation, GCP, and any other applicable guidelines.
5. Work as a member of a team.
6. Responsible for organizing own time and resources in an optimal fashion, with some guidance.
7. Proactively review the schedule and ensure that all assigned tasks are completed, flagging any issues to the Laboratory Operations Manager.
8. Responsible for the delivery of GCP compliant study data for the samples being processed or assayed.
9. Assist with storage and tracking of samples, developing an understanding of HTA legislation.
10. Assist with production of sample kits and sample label production.
11. Support senior members of staff in the planning and delivery of clinical studies.
Skills & Experiences
1. 1st Degree in relevant scientific subject (2:1 or above preferable) or equivalent.
2. RT-qPCR or Cell-based assay experience.
3. Tissue culture experience.
4. Previous experience working to GCP standards and MHRA standards in a clinical trial environment.
5. Experience working within a CRO or pharmaceutical company.
6. Experience working within a virology or biomedical lab.
