A UK based multi-discipline practice in the UK is looking strengthen their compliance team with a BSR Principal Designer. Ideally you are in either Milton Keynes, Midlands or Yorkshire.
The practice boasts several offices across the country, they proudly delivering accurate construction advice in the health and safety, building surveying and cost & project management. Due to the success and progressive nature of the organisation a position has now arisen for a BSR Principal Designer to lead several schemes across the country.
The successful BSR Principal Designer will work across a variety of sectors including the commercial, residential, education and industry spaces. As the lead BSR PD you will work at the forefront of the Building Safety Act 2022 ensuring clients meet legal obligations whilst promoting good design and robust risk management.
Liaising with PM’s, Architects and Design Teams to guide projects through the Gateways process from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the Principal Designer (BSR) under the Building Safety Act 2022, taking responsibility for design risk management and regulatory compliance.
* Lead design coordination meetings and ensure all design duties are appropriately discharged.
* Support clients in navigating Gateway 1, 2, and 3 submissions.
* Provide competent advice on design risk management, fire safety, and building regulations.
* Liaise with the Building Safety Regulator, local authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth approval processes.
* Contribute to the development of internal procedures and training related to building safety compliance.
BSR Principal Designer
* Backgrounds considered Building Control, Construction Project Management, Architecture, or a related field.
* A solid understanding of CDM Regulations 2015 and Building Safety Act 2022.
* Experience working on high-risk residential buildings (HRRBs) or complex multi-storey projects.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Ideally holding (or working towards) IMaPS, CIOB, RIBA, RICS, or CABE professional membership.
