Role Summary

We are looking for a Bar and Events Assistant to join the team at The Pavilion. In this role, you will support the delivery of a wide range of events and bar services, helping to create a welcoming, professional, and enjoyable experience for students, staff, and external customers.

You will play a key part in ensuring all spaces are prepared and maintained to a high standard, while delivering excellent customer service at all times. The role involves working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, supporting bar operations, event set-ups, and maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness, and professionalism.

This is a varied, hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives under pressure, and takes pride in delivering great service.


Key responsibilities

* Deliver excellent customer service to students, staff, and external customers
* Prepare and serve drinks in line with licensing regulations
* Operate the till, take orders, and process payments accurately
* Restock the bar and maintain stock levels during service
* Collect glassware and carry out cleaning duties throughout shifts
* Assist with event set-up, room layouts, and breakdowns
* Support the delivery of internal and external sports and events
* Work effectively as part of a team in a busy, fast-paced environment
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety at all times
* Carry out manual handling tasks as required
* Undertake any duties delegated by the Bar Supervisor
* The post holder must be 18 years of age or over
* Experience of bar work and events
* The post holder must be flexible to work Monday to Sunday, including daytime, evening and late-night shifts.
* Basic knowledge of licensing laws
* Experience working large scale events
