Vehicle Technician (Mechanic) - Exeter

We’re Hiring! Join our dynamic Fleet & Equipment team in Exeter and earn a one-off payment of £1,250. This payment will be paid upon successful completion of your 3-month probation period.
Your skills are needed to keep our ambulances on the road to ensure frontline crews are ready to treat patients when they need us the most. There will be a range of tasks to complete including:
* Fault diagnosis and repair
* Electrical/Electronic fault diagnosis and repair
* Equipment testing
* Maintenance and repair

This position is based at Exeter Workshop and has potential earnings of £40,000+ a year.

Main duties of the job
The Vehicle Technician (Mechanic) role offers the opportunity to work as part of a friendly, professional team in a Fleet Workshop-based environment, ensuring vehicles and equipment are maintained to high standards. It also provides opportunities to develop your career with us within the Fleet and Equipment team or the wider Trust in patient-facing and support roles.
Responsibilities include:
• Service, maintenance and repair activities on motor vehicles and equipment to high standards while completing work fully and effectively, adhering to Trust and manufacturer schedules.
• Recording diagnosis details, work carried out, and components used in line with Trust and manufacturer standards.
• Keeping work areas clean, tidy, organised and safe in line with health and safety policy.
• Working independently and as part of a team when required, and contributing to Trust satisfaction and performance targets. You will embody the Trust values: One Team, Compassionate, Innovative.

Job responsibilities

Qualifications and requirements
* HND in Mechanical/electrical or electronic engineering or equivalent, or knowledge demonstrated through relevant experience/training
* Recognised Motor Vehicle Indentured Apprenticeship or training scheme
* Motor Vehicle Craft Studies Parts 1,2 & 3 or Motor Vehicle Technicians Parts 1,2 & 3 or BTEC equivalent
* C1 driving licence
Experience
* Significant experience of fault finding/diagnosis within a vehicle/electronic/mechanical/engineering field
* Proficient use of diagnostic equipment for fault finding in a medical device/equipment context
* Experience using a variety of tools and equipment for technical/engineering repairs
* Experience servicing and repairing medical equipment
* Experience diagnosing and repairing vehicles and equipment in a supervisory/management capacity
* Knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 13485:2012
