CMS Recruitment are urgently seeking skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible to design, implement efficient, safe and high quality manufacturing processes for new and existing products, with a focus on automation and operation excellence Responsibilities Review, design and implement efficient, scalable manufacturing processes for the ew products, integrating automation where possible. Collaborate with R&D, operations, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless process handover into production. Support continuous improvement of existing processes to enhance safety, reduce costs, and improve quality and consistency. Apply LEAN, Six Sigma, and operational excellence methodologies to optimize workflows and eliminate waste. Strong knowledge of 5S,Waste reduction ( 8 wastes), Visual Control, KPI's Validate and monitor manufacturing processes, making adjustments to ensure safety, quality, and productivity goals are met. Create and review comprehensive manufacturing documentation including work instructions, risk assessments & master works orders. Provide direct training for the Operations team on all new & reviewed processes. Must be experienced in Time Study to establish accurate production targets and. capacities. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Design and Implement Manufacturing Processes: Develop and implement efficient, scalable manufacturing processes for new products. Design of suitable tooling & gauges for manufacturing Collaborate closely with the product design team to ensure that manufacturing considerations are integrated into the product design process from the outset. Ensure processes align with safety, quality, and production standards. integrate automation solutions to minimise reliance on manual labour and improve production efficiency. Experience with dealing with external suppliers for materials, tooling/machinery and services. Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate closely with the product R&D team to understand product requirements and manufacturing considerations. Work alongside the Operations team to ensure agreed, efficient handover of processes into production. Engage with key stakeholders across operations, quality, and engineering functions to gather input and achieve process buy-in. Continuous Improvement: Assist the Process Engineer in improving existing manufacturing processes. Identify opportunities to enhance safety, reduce operational costs, and improve product quality and consistency. Apply LEAN, Six Sigma, and operational excellence methodologies to streamline workflows and eliminate waste. Automation and Technology Integration: Identify opportunities for automation within medium-high volume product assembly processes. Lead projects for implementing automated systems, ensuring a smooth transition and optimal functionality. Preparation, presentation & implementation of CAPEX Business Cases. Process Validation and Optimisation: Validate new manufacturing processes to ensure they meet safety, quality, and efficiency goals. Create process definition and control documentation including Work Instructions and Risk Assessments for new products/ processes Essential Criteria Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline. Proven experience in designing and implementing manufacturing processes for small to medium-volume product assembly. Demonstrated ability to adopt and implement automation solutions to replace manual processes. Experience with LEAN, Six Sigma, and operational excellence methodologies. Lead KAIZEN events. Proficiency in CAD software and process simulation tools is a plus. Strong understanding of safety and quality standards in manufacturing environments Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent problem-solving skills with a hands-on, proactive approach Effective communication and collaboration skills to engage cross-functional teams. Must have a can-do attitude and ability to question, persevere in convincing stakeholders whom may not agree with Change. Analytical mindset with experience in process validation and continuous improvement. Detail-oriented with a commitment to achieving high-quality standards.
