Job Title: Construction Technician
Liberty College is seeking a highly competent, experienced, and dedicated professional with a background in construction trades to support our construction tutors both in and out of lessons. The role of Construction Technician involves supporting learners in preparing for the workforce. You will assist learners on training courses to help them progress into education, employment, training, or volunteering. You will collaborate with our Tutors to deliver construction skills, employability skills, and functional skills in maths and English, aligning with our core goals and values.
You will support the Tutor and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to ensure courses run effectively and services reflect the college's ethos. You will be line managed by the Cluster Lead and report to your designated Tutor and/or other SLT members.
Occasionally, you may need to cover classes when Tutors are unavailable or in cases of sickness. Lesson plans and support from a Teaching Assistant or team member will be provided. Teaching time for Construction Technicians is paid at a higher rate.
Requirements
* Full-Time Construction Technicians must be available to work 195 days per year during term time, from 8:30 to 16:30, Monday to Friday.
* Part-Time Technicians will work a proportion of these days according to their contract.
* You should have an outgoing, friendly, and confident personality, with a positive attitude and a passion for helping others.
* Liberty Training values team players willing to go above and beyond, with flexibility and a good sense of humor being desirable qualities.
* Experience working with young people with behaviour issues, additional learning needs, or SEND, and familiarity with Educational Health Care Plans (EHCP), is beneficial.
