Job Overview:
We’re looking for an Employee Relations Specialist to join the People Operations Team and manage a high-volume caseload of ER matters. You will provide pragmatic advice and support to managers, ensuring compliance with employment legislation, policies, and best practices. Your proactive approach will help foster a positive working environment and resolve concerns early.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Build trusted relationships with managers to provide ER advice and solutions for complex cases, following up to resolution and documenting advice.
2. Support and manage sickness absence cases, monitor trends, and liaise with Occupational Health providers as needed.
3. Advise on case management involving grievances, disciplinaries, investigations, and performance improvement plans.
4. Escalate complex ER cases to the Head of People Operations.
5. Create a positive employee relations climate; coach managers on their responsibilities.
6. Stay updated on employment legislation to provide sound guidance.
7. Collaborate with People and Culture Partners to keep them informed.
8. Continuously improve HR service delivery in collaboration with the Head of People Operations.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Experience in ER, policy, and procedures within HR.
2. Proven success in a similar role handling high ER caseloads.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and workload management.
5. Knowledge of HR software and systems is advantageous.
6. Discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
