We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Assistant to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Lewes, a category B/C Prison located in Sussex.
Job Summary
HMP Lewes is a male prison with a capacity for 742 inmates and is recruiting for a Pharmacy Assistant to support duties such as labelling, stock taking, checking, collections, etc.
Hours
07:30 - 16:30, 4 days a week, no weekends.
Salary
Part time, annual salary up to £29,723 per annum FTE, depending on experience.

Main Duties
* Complete general dispensary duties and stock management.
* Work as an active member of the Pharmaceutical team to ensure delivery of the pharmaceutical service.
* Provide a timely and efficient service to the prison wings.
* Receive prescriptions and stick returns from wing-based clinical areas.
* Collect orders from suppliers from the Main Gate and arrange collection of returns.
* Participate in dispensing of prescriptions.

Qualifications Required
* NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills/equivalent or working towards.
* Medicines handing experience desirable not essential.
* Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent.
* A non-judgmental and compassionate approach.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Good IT skills and IT literacy.
* Ability to work within a busy environment.
* Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures.
