PE Teacher & Subject Leader - SEN School Empowering Learning Location: Near High Peak Start Date: January Contract: Full-time, with the possibility of a permanent position Empowering Learning is recruiting an experienced and motivated PE Teacher & Subject Leader to join a welcoming SEN school near High Peak from January. This is a full-time position with the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate. This role is ideal for a PE specialist who is passionate about inclusive education and ready to take on subject leadership responsibility within a supportive SEN setting. The Role: Lead and deliver high-quality, inclusive PE lessons tailored to pupils with special educational needs Take responsibility for PE curriculum development, planning, and progression across the school Monitor standards, assess pupil progress, and support whole-school improvement in PE Work collaboratively with SLT, SEN staff, and support teams Promote physical wellbeing, confidence, and positive behaviour through sport and movement Ensure safe practice and safeguarding at all times The Ideal Candidate: Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Has experience teaching PE, ideally within an SEN or specialist setting Demonstrates leadership skills or readiness to step into a subject leader role Is adaptable, patient, and committed to inclusive practice Has strong behaviour management and communication skills What Empowering Learning Offers: Dedicated consultant support throughout the placement Opportunity for a long-term or permanent leadership role Competitive rates of pay Access to professional development and leadership support ELCARD
