Industrial Automation Application Engineer – South East UK, you must live within this area.
Please note: You must be a full UK citizen living and working in the UK to be considered for this opportunity. You must also have relevant industrial automation application support experience covering electric drives, pneumatics, control systems, and PLC programming.
This is a great opportunity to join one of the leading industrial automation equipment suppliers as an Application Engineer covering South East UK. The successful candidate will be required to live in the South East area of the UK. This is a work-from-home role.
The Application Engineer is an expert providing the best technical consulting and solutions for key Industrial Automation applications to the Sales Teams in the pre-sales phase across different industry segments of the company, while considering commercial aspects when proposing solutions. They will also support assigned projects. Since each Application Engineer has a specific field of expertise, for this role, commissioning, software, and controls functionalities are required fields of expertise.
Key Aspects of the Role:
* Independently translate multi-technological solutions into detailed designs in pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, and software solutions using the latest technologies.
* Focus on the technical feasibility of proposals based on knowledge of the relevant Industry/Technology Segment.
* Responsible for specification lists and writing technical elements for customer proposals.
* Create Requirement Specifications with the customer.
* Ensure deadlines are met and projects are realized successfully.
* Report all relevant activities and developments related to projects and ensure proper management of project data.
* Handle complaints by setting up action plans if necessary.
* Discuss machine concepts to optimize designs, define specifications, and concepts.
* Support drafting of account plans.
* During pre-sales, act as an interface between the customer and relevant departments within the company, in coordination with the sales engineer.
* Provide technical training and knowledge transfer to the team on specific products and applications.
* Support compliance with norms and regulations.
* Identify and support efforts to win projects.
* Manage commissioning at the customer site, coordinating technical activities.
* Support marketing campaigns and promotional activities.
