LOCATION
This role will be based in our London (Soho) office, and we offer a hybrid working pattern of 3 days in the office and 2 days WFH.
ABOUT THIS ROLE
Reporting to the Managing Director for UK & Ireland, the Head of Sales for the Pro Salon Channel will be an exceptional leader, who is ready to take on a fast-paced, creative and strategic role, managing a talented team across the UK&I.
'UK and Ireland' is the largest and most developed market for ghd. It is a critical territory for the sustainability of the brand at a global level. Consequently, the Head of Sales - Pro Salon Channel has a pivotal role within the organisation and is accountable and responsible for delivering, executing, and achieving the commercial channel objectives for our Pro Clients and ghd. The best candidate will have proven experience of demonstrating impact & results, as well as high commercial acumen & ability to strategically lead a national field team.
JOB ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Remit is the Professional Salon Channel, National Accounts, Wholesale & Hospitality channel.
* Lead and motivate a team of National Account Managers, Area Managers and Business Development Managers to deliver on the commercial objectives of the Channel.
* Define and deliver the commercial strategy to continue to grow the ghd brand, hitting objectives for the brand across distribution, category and sales targets.
* Create a vision for the channel, to drive profitability and performance of all our ghd partners.
* Work with a cross-functional back-office team to build specific plans and activities to achieve those goals, accelerate sales and revenue growth, gaining market share.
* Bring thought leadership and commercial excellence to innovative and disruptive brand activity across the UK&I, to deliver the best customer experience and relationship with our Pro Salon Network.
* Set and deliver on key KPIs such as Distribution, gains, increased revenue per door, number of categories per door, calls per day and productivity etc. As well as continuing to elevate the brand and sell out of our customers through eventing, education, execution and experience.
* Monitoring and analysing performance of commercial activities using key metrics for continuous improvement and communicate internally as required.
* Develop new strategies for identifying a robust pipeline of opportunities and create appropriate sales tools to support the right people with the right skills.
* Integral collaboration with the Trade marketing & Education teams to anticipate and provide the tools and assets required to execute the trading calendars, campaigns, promotions, and new product launches.
* Implementing joint business plans for top customers, improving customer profitability and overseeing P&L to optimise efficiencies and drive ROI.
* Managing long term and new customer top to top relationships within the Channels, being the face of ghd for the industry in conjunction with Head of Education.
* Assuming full ownership of the go-to-market strategy for achieving commercial competitiveness, devising strategic plans to expand specified categories within the customer base to meet both short- and long-term company, customer, and consumer objectives.
* Lead, inspire, mentoring and coaching the commercial team to become a Best-in-Class field force to support the industry. Creating a 'people first' culture among a large national team, ensuring they are focused on the customer.
REQUIREMENTS
* Excellent commercial acumen - Sales, Profit, margins, KPIs, excel skills and business intelligence.
* Proven experience of consistently hitting targets and overachieving.
* Instinctive negotiator with proven success & results – An Inspirational Storyteller and presenter.
* Experience of leading a high performing Field Team.
* Extensive experience within a senior strategic leadership position.
* Understanding of the UK&I environment with ideally existing relationships.
* Proven history of strategic business planning with outstanding sales achievements proven top to top negotiation skills within a highly professional joint business plans environment ability to drive new business strategies through new partnerships and alliances.
* Ability to present, build relations at the most senior levels of management to create confidence and credibility for ghd.
* Self-motivated, passionate, empathetic individual with a positive attitude, "can do" approach and entrepreneurial growth and 'anything is possible' mindset.
* Experience in mentoring, developing, empowering, and leading exceptional, high performing teams and individuals
