Overview

East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) ensures the best possible quality of life and makes every moment count for children and families across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk. Our family-centred approach includes specialist nursing care, symptom management nursing, short breaks, wellbeing activities, therapies, care at end of life, bereavement support, counselling and volunteer services in the family home; all meeting the individual needs of the child, young person and whole family.

In 2020, all three of our hospices; The Nook (Norfolk), The Treehouse (Ipswich) and Milton (Cambridge) were rated OUTSTANDING by the Care Quality Commission. Our people are central to our success. We have a talented workforce of staff and volunteers in Care, Fundraising, Retail, Facilities, IT, Finance, Marketing & Communications and Human Resources. We’re over 440 employees strong, with a team of more than 2,000 volunteers across the organisation including over 50 shops and a Retail Distribution Centre.


Role

Care Assistant – The Treehouse Hospice - IP3 8NS

A Full UK Driving License and access to own vehicle is essential for this role

Full-Time & Part-Time applicants considered

* Minimum 24 hours per week
* Our service is provided in a 24/7, 365 days environment; shifts include weekend & Bank Holiday working.
* Shift Pattern: 12 1/2 hour shifts (includes unpaid break)
o Day Shift - 7:30am-8:00pm
o Night Shift - 7:30pm-8:00am
o Homecare Shift - In the community (hours vary)
* Enhanced Rates - Weekends, Evenings & Bank Holidays: +30% Saturdays & Evenings; +60% Sundays & Bank Holidays
* Permanent Contract

£24,937 - £30,162 FTE per annum, dependent on experience
Care Salary Band: 3/4

We are looking for individuals with experience of working within a similar caring profession who want to further their experience or develop skills working in children’s palliative care.

* All the training and development required to deliver children’s palliative care including:
o EACH Care Assistant Development Programme
o Children’s Palliative and End of Life Care Training Programme
* Regular clinical, safeguarding and management supervision to support your professional development.
* The support you need to enable you to provide safe and effective care and support to the children and their families who use our service.
