We are looking for a newly qualified or experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Short Term Support Service.
Please note HCPC registration is essential for the role or HCPC pending for newly qualified OTs. You must also have a valid UK driving licence.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidates will manage a caseload of clients (often with highly complex needs), using evidence-based clinical reasoning to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions to promote independence and achieve peoples goals.
Our staff provide leadership and clinical education for junior, student and support staff, through supervision, as appropriate to the banding of the post.
You will participate in the planning, development and evaluation of Occupational Therapy services within a designated area/team, holding responsibility for defined projects through specialist interests and steering groups.
All Short Term Support Service staff are enabled to work agile from home or any Northumberland County Council site, including an allocated base office site.

About the Short-Term Support Service:
1. We are a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency team for adult rehabilitation working across both primary and secondary healthcare.
2. Our Occupational Therapists work alongside Team Supervisors, Reablement Workers and NHS Physiotherapists and Technical Instructors to help clients achieve their rehabilitation goals.
3. We also carry out rapid assessment and intervention, providing an urgent community response service.
4. We work with adults with various conditions including orthopedic and neurological, as well as older people with age related conditions, falls and stroke.
5. This makes our work varied and interesting and also very rewarding.
6. The Short Term Support Service plays a pivotal role in supporting hospital discharge and admission avoidance and interventions can take place in client's homes as well as Residential and Nursing homes.
7. Some therapy activities occur in hospitals and other community settings, such as Leisure or Community Centres for group work.
