Overview
Kitchen Porter at Sodexo in Shrewsbury School, The Schools, Shrewsbury, SY3 7BA. You will be a key part of the kitchen team, responsible for maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness within the kitchen and food & beverage preparation areas. Your cheerful, can-do attitude will make you a major part of everyone's everyday experience.
What You’ll Do
* Wash all crockery, cutlery, kitchen utensils, and equipment, as well as food service equipment.
* Ensure the following are kept clean and tidy to a very high standard: Floors & walls; Bins – inside and out; Crushing and disposal of cardboard and boxes; Fridges & Freezers (with assistance from chefs); Delivery areas.
* Maintain cleanliness and safety of working areas.
* Adhere to all health and safety, fire, hygiene, and COSHH regulations governing your work, ensuring the correct chemicals/detergents are always used.
* Help with the setup and clearing of dining areas.
* Engage positively with students and staff, promoting a welcoming dining atmosphere.
* Adhere to all health and safety regulations and food safety standards.
What You Bring
* Positive attitude, professionalism, and respect for others.
* Basic food-handling skills.
* Ability to lift heavy items and work in a standing position for long periods (up to 8 hours).
* No previous work experience required.
