Job Title: Electronic Hardware Project Engineering Manager
Location: Isle of Wight – Cowes. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.
Salary: Circa £70,000, commensurate with skills and experience.
What you’ll be doing:
* Coordinate and deliver engineering activities within a hardware development environment.
* Serve as the central point between system design, technical authorities, and project delivery to ensure alignment of resources, tools, and priorities for high-quality, timely, and within-budget product delivery.
* Lead daily stand-up meetings to review team progress and priorities.
* Collaborate with technical authorities to adapt schedules, assess risks, and re-plan as needed.
* Oversee project control data, escalate resource needs, risks, and priority shifts.
* Own engineering content delivery, coordinating across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain.
* Interface with stakeholders including project managers, design authorities, and subcontractors to meet technical and delivery goals.
* Ensure compliance with governance, safety, and assurance processes, mentor junior engineers, and improve delivery practices.
Your skills and experiences:
* Degree in STEM or equivalent experience.
* Chartered engineer or working towards it.
* Strong understanding of engineering disciplines and ability to interpret complex issues.
* Knowledge of engineering lifecycle, especially in hardware or systems.
* Solid project management skills including scheduling, risk mitigation, and cost control.
* Experience leading multidisciplinary teams of 12+ engineers.
* Proven problem-solving skills balancing risks and stakeholder expectations.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
