Mobile Plant / Field Service Engineer
Hemel Hempstead & Surrounding Areas
£18–19+ per hour (DOE) + Company van + Fuel card
40 Hours per week – Overtime at 1.5×
Responsibilities
* Service, maintain and repair heavy plant machinery (including tracked equipment)
* Investigate, diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic and basic electrical faults
* Respond to breakdowns and emergency call‑outs
* Complete scheduled maintenance and safety inspections
* Accurately complete job cards, timesheets and service reports
* Manage van stock and request parts efficiently
* Maintain high safety standards and compliance procedures
* Deliver professional, customer‑focused service at all times
* Work independently across customer sites
* Support and supervise apprentices where required
Qualifications
* Strong mechanical aptitude and plant engineering experience
* Confident fault‑finding on diesel engines, hydraulics and electrics
* Comfortable working at height and underneath heavy machinery
* Able to work independently and manage workload effectively
* Good communication and customer service skills
* Full UK driving licence essential
