I am working with a fantastic client throughout the UK and looking to recruit an experienced Workshop Engineer (material handling engineer), in the West Bromwich area, ideally mechanically biased. This role offers extensive training and career progression.
Responsibilities for this role include:
1. To find, diagnose, and rectify faults on FLTs as deemed necessary, including ordering the necessary spare parts efficiently.
2. To provide reliable information regarding maintenance, consultation on repairs, and advice on equipment use and updates on repairs.
3. Ensure all paperwork (job sheets, timesheets, purchase requisitions, parts paperwork) and IT systems are maintained accurately.
4. To liaise with relevant departments to share information about forklifts and equipment.
5. To propose improvements and ensure Engineering Standards and Safe Working Practices are followed at all times.
Ideally, to apply for this role you will have:
1. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a related occupation.
2. Mechanical, hydraulic, and/or electrical competencies.
3. Excellent communication skills to liaise with customers and internal colleagues.
4. Sound IT skills, including Word, Excel, and email.
5. Ability to prioritize and work independently or as part of a team, with initiative.
6. A positive, flexible approach and a can-do attitude.
7. Previous experience as a forklift technician, plant fitter, or vehicle technician, ideally from motor, plant, or agricultural backgrounds.
