We are entering an exciting growth phase and are seeking a passionate Play Therapist to join our team. This role offers an opportunity to utilize and develop your therapeutic skills to achieve positive outcomes for our young people. The position covers our homes across Northampton, Coventry, and Nuneaton.
You will deliver a therapeutic service grounded in trauma and attachment-informed care, emphasizing a brain-based approach. You will be part of the clinical team, conducting needs, risk, and strengths-based assessments, and providing clinical consultations and training to our therapeutic care staff, using a PACE-informed approach.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide specialist therapeutic assessments and interventions for children and adolescents.
* Complete therapeutic reports, clinical formulations, and care plans.
* Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team and the Team around the Child framework.
* Support residential carers in building attachment-based connections with children, using PACE principles (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy).
* Maintain knowledge of safeguarding and risk management related to working with children and young people.
* Offer consultation to residential care staff based on a trauma-informed, brain-based approach.
* Manage a clinical caseload providing trauma-informed therapy.
* Work therapeutically with children using approaches tailored to their needs and capacity.
* Make autonomous clinical decisions within your professional practice.
* Provide training to residential care staff and other professionals.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
* At least 2 years of relevant post-qualification experience.
* Registration with HCPC or an equivalent body.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information.
* A genuine passion for working with children who have experienced trauma.
* Full UK Driver’s Licence is required for travel between homes in the region.
