* A role at the intersection of genomics, AI/ML, and scalable cloud infrastructure
* Close collaboration with computational scientists, engineers, and experimental teams
* Ownership of method development from research through to product integration
* A highly interdisciplinary, innovation-led environment
Your Responsibilities
* Design and evaluate new computational approaches for genome assembly, binning, and functional characterisation from metagenomic sequencing data
* Apply advanced statistical and AI/ML techniques to large-scale microbial datasets
* Implement methods into scalable, reproducible, and modular workflows in collaboration with engineering teams
* Benchmark approaches using public and internal datasets and support experimental validation
* Contribute to technical discussions across computational, software, and wet-lab teams
* Communicate complex concepts clearly to interdisciplinary stakeholders
You Will Bring
* PhD (or equivalent experience) in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field
* Experience developing computational methods for next-generation sequencing data (postdoctoral or industry experience for Senior level)
* Strong grounding in algorithms, data structures, and statistical modelling relevant to genomics
* Experience applying machine learning to biological or sequencing data
* Proficiency in programming (e.g. Python, C/C++, Rust) and modern software development practices
* A rigorous, detail-oriented mindset with commitment to reproducibility and benchmarking
Desirable: Experience with microbial genomics, long-read sequencing, workflow management systems, cloud environments, or open-source bioinformatics contributions.
